PRE Power Developers at eMove360 (Oct 16-18, Munich)

PRE will be at eMove360 from Oct 16-18 in Munich. You can find us in Hall A5 Stand 414. PRE demonstrates the latest power modules for EV fast charging. Visitors will see the new bidirectional module for direct solar powered V2G charging and the solutions for charger parks (150kW or more). Also, Menno Kardolus of PRE will provide a lecture at the trade forum in Hall 6 together with Gautham Ram (Delft University of Technology): ‘World's first direct solar V2G charger’.

Abstract:

Recently Delft University of Technology, PRE Power Developers and Last Mile Solutions completed their research on Vehicle to Grid fast charging and now the first direct solar powered Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging module is presented. This research is based on the idea that a electric vehicle is only environmentally friendly when the necessary energy is also generated environmentally friendly as well. The researchers have developed a smart power module that enables charging a electric vehicle with energy from solar panels directly. This also bypasses loss of conversion (in total 19%). The V2G Module can handle four different power flows:

1.      From solar panels to electric vehicle;
2.      From electric vehicle to the power grid;
3.      From power grid to electric vehicle;
4.      From solar panel to the power grid.
